Bar & Restaurant

A fully licensed bar, a kitchen that means it, and a dining room with five hundred years of conversation in the walls.

The bar at The Dusthole is the heart of the place, as it has been since long before any of us were born. It is fully licensed and properly kept, with a fire going when the weather turns and a stool waiting whether you are staying the night or just passing through.

The kitchen takes its food seriously. Tony cooks with a light hand and good local ingredients, and the menu changes with the seasons and with whatever is best that week. Expect honest, generous plates rather than fuss. People have driven a fair way for a Sunday lunch here, and gone home happy.

Where you’ll eat

The dining room sits within the oldest part of the inn, all beams and warm candlelight. There is a conservatory for brighter days and a breakfast room where the day begins properly, cooked to order rather than left under a lamp. In summer the gardens and patio come into their own.

Breakfast and evening meals

Breakfast is cooked to order for staying guests and is available at £15 per person. Evening meals are arranged in advance, usually between £25 and £40 per person depending on the menu and the occasion.

Food and the bar are here for our staying guests, and we welcome others by arrangement too. The simplest thing is to ring ahead, especially at weekends, so we can have a table ready for you. For larger groups and private dining, see Events & Hire.
